I separated my breeds tonight. How long do I need to wait before I start saving eggs to incubate for purebred babies. I just got a new roo for my silkies. They have been with 4 pure Americauna roos 3 lavender and not sure what to call the color of the other one. I want to wait to keep eggs until they will be pure. Any advice is appreciated.

You'll probably want to wait for at least two weeks, and three would be better. Hens can remain fertile (to some extent) for up to three weeks after being with a rooster.
