Questions about bedding

Can ground corn cob be used for adult chickens???? I'm trying to find a better ECO friendly/ compost friendly bedding other than the shaving. Advice please

The main problem I've seen with corn cob is that it molds really bad when it gets damp. Other wise I don't see a problem with using it for chickens as long as it is not really dusty.
