Hi it's me. I'm getting first ever bob white quail from JJ soon. I have never raised them. I dont know yet if im going to save a few pairs (or trios) for breeding or if I'm going to raise them all to eat. Depends on how this goes! LOL. What I want to know is how old before they are processing age? And will they lay this year if I hatch them in a month? I live in FL and they would be in climate controlled lighted garage. Thats about it. I combed the forum but couldnt really find what I was looking for. Also do the babies start calling within a couple days like contournix? Can i put BABY bobwhite and contournix together? They will be seperated within a few days if they dont start out that way. ALSO do male bobwhites call as often as contournix or only when the sun is coming up or going down? One of the only things we worry about with our contournix is their calls bothering the neighbors. Anybody got some advise for a first time bob whiter?

JUST TREAT THEM AS A PACK OF MENTALLY DISTURBED PITBULLS AND YOU'LL BE FINE

Halariously put! I think you answered all my question thoroughly. This could be fun. New experience! I was hoping you would reply to that.

IT WILL EITHER BE A FUN NEW EXPERIENCE OR ABOUT AND TEDIOUS AS A ROOT CANAL MINUS ANESTHESIA... ALL DEPENDS ON THE BIRDS THEMSELVES, YOUR LUCK, AND ALOT ON YOUR ATTITUDE TOWARDS "BUMPS IN THE ROAD". MAKE NO MISTAKE THEY ARE NOTHING LIKE COTURNIX AND CAN BE QUITE TRYING AT TIMES... THERE IS A LEARNING CURVE TO SAY THE LEAST. THOSE OF US WHO ARE "BOB" PEOPLE TEND TO THINK THE HARDSHIPS OF THE LEARNING CURVE ARE WORTH IT

Bobwhites are fun. I love them. That reminds me, I need some more

But also it's Coturnix not Contournix or whatever you are calling them...there is a crazy lady living in the Tampa area that has no knowledge on the birds and calls them odd names. Just wanted to let you know so you can sell them right ;0

There i fixed it LOL i sell the crap out of those eggs in my hood anyway I spell it tho, LOL:cool: People round here have found out how delicious they are; the eggs and the birds and how easy too.
