Hi, I have questions about hatching chicks.
    1. How many eggs should the chicken be sitting on?
    2. Will she continue laying eggs while sitting on her clutch.
    3. Can the rooster stay with the hen while she is sitting on her eggs?
    4. If my chicks hatch do I need to separate rooster?
I think that's all for now I have de'uccles and I would like to see if I can get some chicks from them. I have read different opinions about them being broody so I will just have to see.

I will look around some more on BYC to see if I can find some answers. Thank you in advance for your replies.

    1. She will likely pull every egg under her that she can from her and other hens.
    2. Once she is setting, eggs will stop until she is ready to let the clutch be on there own.
3./4. The Rooster should be fine as long as he is not being dangerous to the hen or eggs. My broody clutches seem to be just fine after hatch with the roo and "most" other hens.

Just my experience. The Broody Hen will manage most of the issues above if she is going to be a successful broody mom.
