1. What is broody and when/why does it happen?
Thanks...

Do all hens molt? During the winter?

Ok,can I still remove the eggs when they're broody? Will they be aggressive if I do?

Broody.
All this means is,they wanna be amother. They will have plucked bellies as well.It happens during spring mostly.
Molting.
They do it in the winter,I have heard of summer birds doing it.Why do they?Basically to grow new feathers, nothing much.

They might get feisty and take peck at you, growl, flatten themselves down to try and prevent you from taking eggs.

If your bird is truly broody, staying on the nest for 3 days and nights, and you don't want to give her fertile eggs to hatch out, you may want to 'break' her.

Thank you all for the input! I appreciate the help!
