Questions about new ducklings

Hi...I'm relatively new to the forum. Been reading a lot of the wisdom here.

We received our Metzer Farms order early this morning of 4 blue Swedish and 2 Buff ducklings. We got them set up immediately, showed them the water, had a nice warm place for them, and so on. Within an hour, one of the Buffs was twirling in circles, then flipped on her back, and died. One of the Swedish has a slightly mismatched beak. S/He seems to drink okay so far, but s/he hops a bit peculiarly. Hopefully that will straighten out.

We got 2 Anconas from Wilco at the beginning of the month...no problems with them. Then we got the last 2 Saxonies from Holderreads up the road...no problems with them. Granted, these new little guys have had 3 days in transit and they are tinier than any of the others we got at close to a week old. Any advice to keep the other new ones healthy?

Do you have any poultry Nutri drench you can dribble along the bill and also add to their water. Very sorry for your loss. Be sure to contact Metzers too.

We were following the instructions from Holderreads...but we can definitely go look for NutriDrench.

Now, at 2 hours home, 3 are active and running around, and 2 are cuddling under the MHP (mama heating pad).

This is the one with the off beak.

You might want to try feeding them scrambled eggs too. I know it saved @Miss Lydia ducklings that suffered from shipping stress which is possibly what's happening to yours.

Thanks so much for mentioning this @DuckyDonna. Hopefully your little one won’t have any difficulty with that bill just deep bowl for feed and water.

I used chick saver electrolytes in mine’s water for the first 24 hours. Sorry to hear about the loss

The rest seem nice and perky now and are eating the egg like crazy. Now that they seem stabilized, I'll run to the farm store and get the electrolytes, etc. Thank you all!

Since you're going to the farm store you should probably pick up some B-complex vitamins too. It's so good for them and will help with leg strength and about every other thing you can think of.

It says this is injectable. Do they need injections?
