Questions About Pecking - Me, Not Each Other

Thanks for the great responses everyone and your personal experiences. I was in the boat for "give them treats from my hand always" but I was afraid my wife may have different feelings about it and I know she'd be worried about getting hurt after they age. I want to at least try and not have the chicks favor one of us over the other so we both need to do this.

Funny stories here though about the freckles... that should be interesting.

If you're (or your wife's) concerned about pinching, just get yourself a good pair of leather gloves and wear them whenever you handle the chickens. They double as thorny-plant removers and digging-in-the-manure protection. Everyone should have a pair
