Questions about timing and age for introducing roosters.

I understand better. My sister-in-law has MS. It may occasionally slow her down but it hasn't stopped her yet.

Wishing you the best.
Thank you. There are hard days but the babies need me. They just don't realize how much more I need them.

Well, I got a boy. I put him in..he was just off grazing and every hen one at a time puffed and jumped at him. He jumped at them and pinned a couple down and then they went separate ways. The girl I thought maybe was closer to the bottom of the pecking order just kept going on with him. He is now in a caged run inside their big open run. Gonna let them familiarize themselves and try in a couple days. He never initiated it so I guess my girls just have to get used to him.

Well, he is the man of the hour I guess. He dazzled one of my girls and mated. They let him roost with them. The hardest part was watching them challenge him. All I could do was sit and comfort them when they came to me. Within the hour they were all ok. There were a few lingering stare downs but I guess the determining factor wad. He is on the roost in the coop and they all settled in like usual. We stayed out there for a bit but there were no sounds other than a couple coos.
This was harder on me I think than it was on them. Welcome to the flock Ozzy.
