Questions about Winterizing my Coop

The winding thing on the right side of the coop was put there by the guy who built it for water, nipples underneath. I don't use it, though. I don't like having to lift a 5 gal bucket that high to get it into the opening when I can do it on the ground and move it where I want. Plus, it would freeze in the winter.
I wondered about that serpentine pipe dealie.
I figured it was tied to a gutter system to catch rain off the roof.
I'd take that sucker out of there.

Yeah, I took out the dry feeder that was on the left side of the door. You can see it on the outside of the door in my profile pic that was taken after I got the coop. That was the first thing I took out. I thought it was an attractant for varmints, plus only one chicken could feed from it at a time. I did put water in the tube thing once while still having the regular waterer, but only 2 of them figured it out then. So I may remove it soon. You can also see the entrance of it sticking out to the right of the door outside.
