DH and I are thinking about keeping one of our breeding pairs of Anconas as inside pets. We would probably buy them diapers eventually but we know it's not an option to allow them to roam the house 24 hours a day. We are trying to come up with a way to confine them when we can't watch them. What do you do when you can't watch your ducks? Do they stay in a crate or a pen of sorts? How big around should an enclosure for 2 inside ducks be (Anconas aren't very big...5-6 pounds?) How tall should it be? What would make a good (aka isn't too smelly and is easy to clean often) footing for the enclosure? We live in a large basement apartment so it would be tough for us to have to haul any kind of really heavy bedding in and out. Also, we don't want anything too dusty for our health and the ducks. I think that's it. Thanks!
