Questions from a newb

Recently I've gotten 6 ducks and have never owned any before but I have some questions I hope someone can answer.

1. My ducks are supposed to be Indian runners but one isn't like the others. As you can see from the video, she's bluer and fatter than the other 5. Did anyone have a guess on what she is?

2. The 2 fawn and whites as the aforementioned blue one are females. Can anyone tell the sex of the other 3 chocolate ones?

If the 3 chocolate ones haven't started quacking then there is a good chance that they are male. Females have quite a loud quack (Indian runners are particularly noisy) and males will have a quieter raspy quaking noise. It sounded like one of the little duckies quacked in your video, so you can compare the noises they are making to tell the sex.

Yes I know the three I mentioned quack and that's the best way to tell but it's nearly impossible to differentiate them in a group. Thank you!

Looks like the blue is just a bit chunky. I have a stocky Runner, too, a black one.

They are just lovely!

Thank you for your input! She is one of the sweeter ones so maybe she's just a hefty gal with great personality? ;-)

Your black one is so cute! And holy cow she's really loud when she wants to be! Lol, I mentioned I'm new to ducks and I guess pretty stupid because it never dawned on me they could be that loud- yours just cracked me up.

Zehn still cracks me up! She used to yell like that any time I went out of sight. Yup.

Then for a while, they would give me 45 minutes. Then yell. If I was home. The neighbor said if I was not home, they were quiet until my car was a block away.
