questions. New to chicks

Also the noise for 6 weeks. I agree with the " spend time every day with them" . I used to feed my first 3 chicks scrambled eggs and they still eat out of my hand and those chicks are the friendliest to both me and my husband. We got ours at 8 weeks of age but was able to train them to be friendly

not worried about the noise. My daughter has a parakeet that yells and chirps all day long. LOL Plus I have a beagle/coonhound mix dog that when younger used to bark all the time so I am used to a noisy house. haahaa

Ohh that you are.! Well since you don't have a coop yet I like the security of the rabbit cage idea. If your cat went for them it would only be natural so can't get mad at them for that. So better to prevent any tears ahead of time.

that is why we are putting hardware cloth around the dog crate so the kitty paws can't get in there. it will be sealed up so no accidents happen. I have had cats, dogs, chickens, hamsters, rabbits etc. while growing up and as an adult (no chickens or rabbits as an adult) and we are always careful to be sure the cats can't get in or at anything that it is instinct to hunt, like my daughters parakeet or other daughters hamster. so that is at least 1 thing I have experience with as an adult.
