Questions on chickens!

Hello, we have a flock of 13 chickens, and plan to get some more soon. Our current chickens we have had for about two years now. For some reason their back, rear, and tail feathers are all gone. Idk if they are feather picking, or are just losing feathers, b/c this has been going on for a long time. They also have not molted, and they appear very small for their age and sickly. Thanks for your help!

Can you get pictures, please? What's their diet? Do you have a rooster? Are they free range or cooped and if so, how big is the coop?

I see you posted a similar question last year and someone asked about your coop and run dimensions, etc but you never responded. We will need that info (pictures would be good as well) and also feed info to help you.

I am not able to get pic right now, but we don’t have a rooster, and their diet is normal chicken food with scratch.

“Normal” can mean a lot of things. What percentage protein is the food? Is it layer feed or all-flock?

Feather picking can be caused by lack of protein and also by stress.

I would switch to an all-flock feed with higher protein and see if that helps
