I have 2 Indian Runner females who have been sitting on a group of 16 eggs. They are all fertilized as far as I can tell from candling. They have nice distinct veins. I know as a breed they are not typically broody - but they have been sitting faithfully all day every day since April 27th which puts us at 22 days. The problem is that When they started to sit there were only 4 eggs...so they kept laying/sitting etc. How do I know which ones will hatch and when? If some hatch will they continue to sit on the rest? Is it ok to take the ducklings away once they hatch to try and get her to sit on the rest?? And what are the chances they will be good mommas after hatching?
Thanks in advance! Any advice/tips are appreciated
