Its been about 3-4 years since the town made me get rid of my chickens. I ended up getting an apartment off campus where I go to school. To make a long story short I can have chickens now, and im trying to hatch some in my incubator.

Its a still air little giant with an auto turner, and I have 14 eggs in there now.

My hydrometer just came in today and im on day two of the countdown. I put the meter in there and its registering 14% humidity so I added a few teaspoons of water, and now im down to 10%? It registers 57 percent out of the incubator but drops to %10 inside the incubator. Should I add more water? I have both plugs removed.

Not sure if the meter is messed up or what the issue is, I dont want to drown the chicks by adding too much water

I have the same incubator and I usually try to keep mine around 25-30% from day 1-18 and then of course much higher on lockdown. I also put 1 of the vent plugs in and have both removed during lockdown.

Did you only add water to one of the wells in the bottom or all three?
