I think it would be a good price, once you have a pair they will multiply fast so take away the eggs if you don't want allot of doves.
 
Doves will probably try to breed year round, but might stop in the winter, the female lays 2 eggs about every 2-6 weeks and both male and female will brood the eggs and raise the babies. Just make sure the parents have fresh food and water daily and they will completely take care of the eggs/babies without needing any help. Pigeons and doves produce something called "crop milk" in their crops and the babies need it to grow correctly. Hope this helps.
