Yesterday was in the mid 60 here in my part of Kansas. The day before that was 71. I had a group of 6 week old Georgia Giants living in the shop. I'v been weaning them off the heat lamp, no lamp the last few days, and live is good. I moved them out to there out side pen yesterday and it got down to 31 deg last night. I had put there lamp back, so life was still good this morning and today.
When I watched the news tonight, the weather man said we may get a winter mix late tonight and in the morning. I just received a "severe winter weather warning" saying 3 to 6" are expected tonight. Got up to check the birds and everything is white and silver dollar size snow flakes.... Welcome to your new home quail birds!! We live in Kansas!!
I got them closed off from the wind and drifts of snow that may have blown in. They should be warmer than they were in the barn with out the light, Just has to be a stress to them.... I whine about Kansas, but every time I leave, I cant get back quick enough...Bill
