June 20th

Hi all, first time incubating and understand the importance of not keeping a dead embryo in the incubator due to exploding and spreading bacteria. I have 5 eggs, moving and doing very well. I am receiving conflicting information and don't want to pull the egg if it is indeed thriving, but also don't want to jeopardize my other 5.

Today July 3rd

I have not once seen movement, but was encouraged to continue incubation due to no blood ring and the strong veins. Today, to me, it looks as if that is a blood ring, no progression with side of embryo, but veins are still as strong as ever.

Immediate responses are great! Again, I don't want to jeopardize my other 5, but due to inexperience, I don't want to give up on this one if there's no reason!

Thanks!

I have actually had a few bad eggs that I let remain in the incubator for a full 21 days. This was only on two occasions. However, if you have seen blood vessels, this means it could only be rotten for so long, not the full 21 days. It's taking a chance, but not such a big one. I would not take it out.

Your June 20th pic is a fantastic view of a developing egg!:clap

The egg looks strange to me on the June 27th pics...but the blood vessels look good on the July 3rd pics. I would leave it in.

Even if you have an egg and you aren't sure it's dead...it can be left it in until you are certain. If you see blood vessels, that usually means there's a live embryo. Once the embryo dies...the vessels begin to atrophy. Sometimes the eggs just want to test us I think.

As long as it doesn't smell bad...or ooze, I'd leave it in.
IF it smells bad at any point or starts to ooze, I'd take it out.:thumbsup
