Quick growers

Has anyone heard of chicks maturing in three and ahalf weeks. I hatched eggs April 1. My boy is crowing and I think that there are more eggs than 1 a day from my prize layers. I'm also getting fertile eggs. The parents are Golden Comets.

I am assuming you meant 3 & 1/2 MONTHS.
Yes, it's going on here at my homestead too.
My cockerel crows incessantly and loves his ladies.
My pullets are in full swing laying their tiny eggs too.
It's early according to stats but it's happening nonetheless.

Yes,3.5 months. It must be all the good bugs and treats from my "farmers wife". Thanks for letting me know it's not the heat getting to me.

Cockerels can start crowing at 3.5 months but I doubt they are mounting and fertilizing hens at that age.

More than one egg a day is pretty rare.....what breed are your 'prize layers'?
