I just looked at my chickens and saw one of them in the corner of the run laying down with her eyes closed. I threw some scratch in there to see if she'd wake up. She opened her eyes but didn't move. I picked her up and saw a clear fluid dripping out of her butt. She's weak and panting. I put her in a cat carrier in my bathroom. WHAT SHOULD I DO??? QUICK!!

Sounds like what one of my hens had, minus the liquid from the butt.
Seperate her from the others, as it is contagious.

Mine I had to feed and water from an eyedropper, so give her some water and yogurt.
There wasn't much hope there for me, because she ended up dying. I hope you fair better.

Good luck

There's still a lot of liquid coming out of her vent. Clear and doesn't smell.

1) What type of bird , age and weight. 1 year old EE hen.
2) What is the behavior, exactly. lethargic. Clear liquid coming from vent.
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms? She seemed fine just a couple of hours ago and I just noticed this now.
4) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma. No
5) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation. No idea.....maybe eggbound or an egg broke inside her. She's not the best egg layer.
6) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all. Water/ organic layer pellets, scratch, black oil sunflower seeds.
7) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc. There was a little poo stuck to her feathers under her vent and watery clear fluid coming out of her vent.
8) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? I brought her in the house and she's in the bathroom in a cat carrier.
9 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet? There is no vet in my area for chickens.
10) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.
11) Describe the housing/bedding in use 4x6 hen house and 12x12 run she shares with 4 hens and 1 rooster. Pine shavings. Straw for the nest boxes.

I don't know what is wrong, but here's a bump.

How old is she? What breed? Is she laying? Could she have an egg stuck in her?

Never mind you got it!!

I did look it up some time ago, I would suggest you do so. Just monitor how she does, make sure that you wash hands after touching her.
Make sure shes warm and cozy. And make sure she's hydrated, that's all I can help you with right now, I'm sorry

Good luck though

Well, she perked up a little after pooping again. The poo was still very runny, but there was a little normal looking poo mixed in. I have her in the shower stall with water and yogurt mixed with her layer pellets.

This is something that sounds common. What you need to do is: get some hay and put it in the cat carrier, next make sure she has plenty of room to move and be comfy, make sure shes not too hot or not too cold, make sure she has FRESH cold water at all times, make sure she has regular feeding pellets, and some snacks, yogurt, strawberries, ect. This sounds like something that happen to my hen. Its seems to be that she cant lay, or the egg she was trying to lay had no shell.

I'll keep posted....

Hope this helps!!
