actually two. I'm using an old still air incubator for some coturnix eggs, i'v read a couple of different temps, i'm aiming for 103, is this correct? Also do i have to turn each egg by hand or can i just shake the incubator a little (gently), also how many times a day should i turn them. I'm kind of new to incubating so thanks for being tolerant...

For still airs, it's 101.5F if I remember correctly. You can use a quail carton and put them in that to turn them. Just tilt the carton three times a day.

Forced Air= 99.5 Or 99 To 100
Still Air 100.5 Or 100 To 101=== Not 103.

Humidity Is The Same Still Or Forced= 45-55% During Incubation, 65-75% For Lockdown And Hatch
HAND TURN--- BY "SHAKING THE BATOR" YOU'LL MAKE THE WATER SLOP OUT OF THE HUMIDITY TRAY... MOST AUTO TURNERS ARE SET TO MAKE 1 OR 2 FULL ROTATIONS/ 24 HR TIME CYCLE. BY ROTATING THEM MANUALLY 1/4 TURN EACH TIME AT A RATE OF 4X'S DAILY YOU WILL RECEIVE BEST RESULTS FOR HAND TURNING--- TRY TO KEEP BATOR OPENING TO THE MINIMUM--- ONLY OPEN FAR ENOUGH TO GET A HAND IN THERE AND GENTLY BUT RAPIDLY ROLL THE EGGS. THIS WILL HELP MAINTAIN A MORE STABLE(IF THATS POSSIBLE WHILE HAND TURNING...) HUMIDITY.
