Hi all! I've often lurked here to absorb all I can...
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My mum has chooks and had a roo so I stole some of her fertilised eggs last year to hatch.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
10 - 1 roo, 7 laying hens, 2 x 7-week-old babies
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have:
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Love the process and fulfilment of watching them grow, gain personalities, just be chickens!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Children and ponies
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have 2 daughters who love their chooks, I have a pony, 2 guines pigs, 2 dogs, and a cat. Insurance brokering funds my animal addiction
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Google - so many questions I google and BYC comes up - font of all chicken-related knowledge!

- white sussex x black copper marans cockerel (hatched)
- black copper marans hen (hatched)
- 3 warren browns - 2 layers, 1 x 7wks
- 2 lavender araucanas
- 2 skylines
- 1 black rock 7wks
