My orp eggs are on day 16. I just checked the incubator and the humidity was 24% and the temp was almost 102* , It is a Genesis 1588 incubator, and normally stays right at 100.2*. When I candled the eggs last 13 eggs were full and Dark except the airspace, I added some water and waiting for the Humidity to come back up, will the combination or low humidity and high temp kill my babies? or will they be alright, I don't know what happened I havent touched the incubator in a week so? Why did the temp go up it has been steady to this point.
Thanks Sandy
I don't want to lose my babies at this late date!

I think you are seeing the temp spike as the chicks begin regulating their body temps.
Chickens are warm blooded, of course, and as the embryos begin regulating their own body temps, the temp jumps up.
The humidity is way too low, though, so you better get a damp wash cloth in there.
