Quick ?! Peroxide okay to use on chickens?

NO I just spoke to an avian specialist about this the other day, it does strange things to their blood she said.
I have used it with out and negative visible side effects... but it was very, very sparingly on a cut on my hens foot.
Her alternative, was to wash with warm water and dawn, rinse and dry... a pain, but peroxide will make a nasty dry dark scab, it will get itchy ann she will pic at it and maybe open it back up...if you use it anyway, please be careful!!!!

This is a very old thread. In general, it's good to know that peroxide destroys healthy cells as well as bad ones. Some use it for cleansing just once, but no more. There are safer things to use, like Hibiclens or even sterile saline, which you can make yourself.
