Quick question about bobs laying habits

Do they typically lay year-round? Begin in the spring? If they lay continually, how long with that last?

They're at least 8 months old. I have a 14 hours/day light out in their coop, and they just began laying for me. Trying to figure if it's just the season to begin laying (we are having a very warm winter in NC) or if the light helped them think it's spring.

If you do not add extra heat and light to Bobs, they will begin laying in the spring and stop laying in the fall. April to Sept is pretty average. You probably have tricked them into laying, although each area of the country is different. And if their bodies feel it is warm enough and the light is right, they could start laying this time of year.
