How long with a hen stay broody??? Eventually I'm thinking about trying to hatch using a broody (gotta wait till my chicks get old enough) and I'm just wondering how long a hen will stay like that. Indefinately, as long as she's got something to sit on???? How long is recommended to keep a hen broody if that's the case???? (Sorry if these are stupid questions!!!!) Thanks!!!

As long as she feels like it...
Can be a light broody and sit for 10 days and quit, can be a determined one and sit for months on end... If you have no eggs for her, I'd stop her asap since it's not really the best for their health to sit for too long. It's all hormonal for them.
