My neighbor told me, that, when candling, if you put it in a box or can, to put the pointy end down, is this true??

Hey there, yes this is true. But if you got a very bright Flashlight, and go in a dark room hold egg small end down and you can see the air sack. How long have you had them in the bator.

What if you're a week into it and they still look like yolks inside...? Is this normal? (pleasesayyes)

5 days today. :) Its a homemade one, with a homemade candler on top. They are all developing nicely.

When you candle, on the yolk, is there a darker spot, shaped like a circle??

Not that I see. :( It is a homemade incubator though, I wasn't expecting much from it. I just set some in a "real" incubator about 20 mintues ago so hopefully they will do better.

Ok, so I candled my eggs earlier this morning and I saw an eye! (or a heart) But it was small and round! My eggs are too dark to see very clearly but there is definitely development! :D I'm not sure there is enough development for me to go into lockdown on day 18... They might need a few more days but I can't tell for sure. today is day 11. I guess I'll go into lockdown anyway and see what happens. I have 36 more eggs a week behind these 3 so it won't be tragic if they don't hatch.

I just used a toilet paper roll and put the egg into one end and shone (shined?) a bright flashlight into the other end.
