Quick question about gender

I recently got my order of 11 Buff Brahma chicks in the mail. 10 Pullets and 1 Cockerel. 10 of the birds have a little spot on their beaks and one does not. Could one assume that is how Meyer Hatchery marks the sex? Or am I and my daughter just over thinking the situation a bit? Any feed back is most welcome!

Wow that’s neat! It probably could be, sort of like how farms tattoo ears of lambs or goats, or put notches in pigs ears! Would love some pics.

Ugh! Don't remind me of ear notching. I had to do that as a kid and hated it. I always thought it made the ears look so ugly. Pics to come soon. They are not real wild about being held yet and don't realize that pictures are a good thing.
