If I were to live-trap a skunk and then dispatch it using either drowning or the CO method of execution would it cause a stink (literally)? I've only ever seen skunks destroyed by cars and naturally the trauma led them to stink to high heaven, but is that a given?
Sorry for the dumb question, but I generally have a "Live and Let Live... As Long As They Stay Away From My Chickens" policy for my predators and don't have a lot of actual hands-on experience with disposing of them. Thanks.

I don't know prob. Drowning? What do you mean by "CO"? Do you mean the baking soda and peroxide thing?

lol we just drive around with a shotgun in the trunk...we live in a place where you can do that, and if one happens to get too close tot he house we just tell the kids to cover their ears and they gleefully watch dad dispatch it right there. Of course they stink no matter how they die...so we have the shovle at the ready and toss it in the pickup for DH to drive down by the neighbors we dont like much

Shot em in the ditch. Shot em in the live trap. Shot em in the barn even! But always throw em on the burn pile. Might have to rethink that! LOL

No, car exhaust piped into a tarp covered cage/trap. We have a set-up to move car exhaust directly from the tailpipe to outside by means of a 20 foot flexible pipe. We have it because we store a car in the back of our garage in the winter, and it needs to be started once a month. So, we use the hose to keep the exhaust from filling the garage and poisoning us in the house.
