Quick question on brinsea advance eco 20 (EX) .. Update.. Tubing??

I just go the brinsea 20 advanced ex with pump. I have some issues with the recommended 16 eggs at a time. I called brinsea and they said if the moisture wick touches the eggs, they'll go bad. But the middle rows all almost touch the wick. The recommended laying the middle eggs flat but I'm concerned they won't turn properly flat. If I don't use the foam padding will the plop out?
Would love input from someone who has the 20 with the pump. They stated the 40 is different without these issues

What do you mean moisture wick? is that something on the the humanity pump?

i think that's what they called it. where the pump line goes into the incubator there is a paper that they call a wick. just an absorbent piece of paper.

OK so this only applies to the humid pump not the incubator without the pump?

Would you be able to use the blue shop paper towels that mechanics use as replacement "wicking" material?

Also, aquarium air tubing comes in different varieties. There is silicone tubing that is very soft and stretchy, it's probably the same design/materials.
