Quick question

Do hens tend to stay on nest and come out less when eggs are about to hatch? She was coming out to eat in the morning and evening but now isn't coming out. should I put food close to her or just leave her alone?

That is normal, Mine do not come off the nest the last 2/3/4 days for nothing. I have set many! NO do not put food or water close to her----she knows eating will cause her to have to poop so it would mean pooping in the nest or getting off and she knows she should not do either. Sticking food close----does temp her which is not good. Also it would be best to not peak under her during this time----that causes her to loose the moisture she has built up for the hatch.
