Quick Question?

I have a broody hen sitting on infertile eggs for 21 days. I used an incubator to hatch some chicks. How do I put the chicks with the hen without her killing them? Today is the hatch day, a couple have hatched and some have just piped. The hatched chicks are still wet.

If I were going to try it I would do it in the dark while she can't see. Good luck

When I have grafted chicks onto a hen, I waited until after dark, and with as little light or fuss as possible, slipped them in under the hen and took the eggs out. The times I've tried it, it has been successful.

X3. Put them under her while it's dark and remove all or the eggs. She will take them as her own.

I took some of the eggs away from the broody hen tonight. I was putting chicks in the broody coop and the hen came over and sat on them before I could get all the chicks in the coop... hopefully that is a good sign. Thanks for the advice!
