Quick question

So I'm making breeding plans for this spring, not for any special reason just a personal project. The question is, if I have a hen and a rooster who have the same dad but different mothers, would it be bad if I bred them? They are half siblings but I dont know if that would affect the eggs/chicks or not.

@MysteryChicken touched on the subject before. And I have asked her before as well.

It seems that inbreeding is not as much of an issue in F1 or F2 breedings. This is for chickens though.

It would be pretty dang close to fine. Better than fully related siblings

Good luck! Let us know how it turns out for you. Any chance of getting pics of your hen and roo? Do you still have the "same dad" of the two of them, or of the different mothers? Any chance of getting portraits of them as well? This could be a fun and interesting project to follow, right from the start. What breeds are they? How many do you plan to attempt hatching?

The dad was a blue EE and I have pics of him but no longer have him and yes I can get pictures of the current roo and the 2 mothers and the hen

This is the only pic I have of jasper's mom and it's when they were babies so I'll get one of her now tomorrow

This is jasper I dont have any pics of opal but shes basically a white with black spots EE without muffs or a beard but I'll get pics of opal and paprika tomorrow
