Quick Question

We just got chicks today and one of them is still a little visibly wet. On her little stomach there's not much fluff at all, is it still growing in? It's pretty bare and reddish. I know she's the youngest, the fluff thing just scares me though.

If you need a picture just say so.

One more thing actually, I have my chicks on layer (chick)starter... Is that bad? That's what the lady at the store said to feed the buffs, but I'm really not sure...

If it is "layer"feed it will have too much calcium in it.

Hopefully, you actually have them on "chick starter" and NOT "layer" feed. The latter is not good at all for young birds not yet laying eggs -- too much calcium whilst they are growing. (It's not like people, who need more calcium as we grow.)

Yeah it's chick starter... I re checked. I still need to know about that little one though.
