QUICK! Should I assist?

see a thread I posted about mine because I was worried. It took 20 hours and 19 of them it did nothing. Finally the last hour he made a bigger hole and then quickly zipped and he was out in 45 mins....

Thanks guys! In the last hour he/she has completely hatched on its own! Now just drying off.

How long should I wait to move the brooder?
This egg was from an older hen that had no interest in it and it was adopted by a younger hen that was sitting on it up until about a week ago when her own egg hatched and was about 3 days old and she started taking him down into the yard to eat. So I brought this egg inside into the incubator. Do you think if I put the chick back under her tonight when shes up in the coop for the night, that she will take care of it again? Or should I just keep chick inside under a heat lamp?

I would keep it inside under a heat lamp. You can leave it in the incubator for up to 3 days. Leave it in there at least until all the others have hatched so you don't shrink wrap one that is pipping.

Quick pic. In a very warm temperature controlled room.

And heres his buddy (half brother) thats two weeks older. Mom is taking care of the two week old out in the coop, hence the reason I brought the new chick in, because she was too busy with the older one to sit on this egg. But maybe I will bring him in too.
