I spend some time every morning with my 12 week old chicks, several different breeds. Some are flighty and some I can easily pick up. So this morning I'm sitting on a stump, hand feeding them and a few just won't come close. One of the more adventurous ones decides that my tennis shoe string must be a worm. Within seconds, all 15 chicks were flocking one me, pulling at all four of my shoe strings! Their fear of me was replaced be their determination to get these "worms". I even tried shooing them away and they kept coming back, even the most flighty of them. I had to run out of the coop with them hot on my tail! I wish I had a video of it; it really was hilarious
. I would try this with my adult hens, but I'm somewhat afraid to!
