Quiet Breeds?

I know not to keep a rooster, but what breeds of hens are known for there quietness if any. I live in a subdivision where chickens may not be welcomed. I would like my layers to make as little noise as possible. Thanks, ET

seramas, silkies, and cochins are pretty quiet in my experience.... my cochin roosters don't even crow!

My australorp is VERY quiet. My Barred Rock is louuuud, so are the EE's

My cochin and brahmas, excluding the roosters of these breeds, are very quiet, barely muttering under their breath when they do vocalize, and not even given to the egg song after laying. My wyandottes and EE's are the noisiest.

I've never even heard my buff orpington hens ever do the egg song. They are the most quiet hens I have.

My Australorps and Buff Orps have all been very quiet.
