Quiet Mallard-Types?

Okay, so we now have 4 Muscovies, 1 boy, 3 girls. He is very happy.

But, we have 2 males and 1 female of the Mallard-type persuasion. We want to get a lavender Muscovy, as our oldest son loves all things purple and this would be the epitome of love for him. But, at the same time, we want to get Duckter and Maggie another female for their "pack". Sunshine, who we think is Rouen is relatively quiet, mostly grunts and squeals and is their female.

So... are there any quiet female Mallard-types out there? I have heard that Cayugas can be somewhat quiet, but then I have seen people talk about how loud theirs are. If the Mallard comes in lavender, that would be a bonus.

If there just isn't any quiet Mallard types (and we just got lucky with Sunshine) then that is fine. But, it never hurts to ask, right?

Ages ago I saw some ‘lavender’ mallards for sale, they looked lavender. Then I asked for more recent photos and they didn’t look very lavender, I can’t remember but I think they were almost chocolate.

The closest you may get to lavender in mallard domestic breeds is the blue swedish, I think splash is almost lavender but I’m not very sure. I’m sure someone can verify that.

My Rouen/ Cayuga crosses are pretty quiet. I have one loud Cayuga and one loud one so they can go either way.

I had some pretty Pekin and Runner ducks like Blackie in the picture. They were very quiet but I think my Indian runner was the quietest of the two.

My only truly quiet girl is my Magpie. She is just about the sweetest, gentle girl with a very quiet quack. Welsh is the second quietest. My Cayugas are LOUD. Runner is loud. Rouen is loud. Lenore, the Magpie, is on the far left.

Our Rouen doesn't quack as much as typical Mallard-types. She has a quack but prefers to use grunts, murmurs, trills and a gruffy "male" wahwah. She is talkative, but she isn't LOUD. Like, my neighbors don't know she is there. She will quack if she gets trampled by the male Pekin during tomato time, because he is a pig...

I looked for Magpies, but no one has them around here. If I wanted some, I would have to pre-order for next year and drive 2 hours (at least, depending on traffic through Austin) to pick them up. Magpies are gorgeous though. Noah, our son, would love the blues.

We have five Indian Runners, usually they are very quiet, when foraging the girls have an unobtrusive chat with each other while our drake is rasping. Only when they get agitated, the females become really, really loud. If i grab one - which they don't like, they quack from here to California… Other than that very pleasant-natured birds.

Blue Swedish is probably the closest to lavender I have seen and they have a reputation for being calm / quiet. There is Indian Blue runners and come to think of it I think I saw lavender runners somewhere, maybe EFowl.com? My sister's chocolate runners were fairly quiet, but all her animals are retardedly calm and we'll behaved. She spends allot of time with them.
