quiet roo?

Afraid to say it's going to depend more on the neighbors than on the rooster. Roosters aren't any louder than a barking dog, but some people just have a problem with it.

I personally think banties are quieter than standards, some people don't like the high pitch of a banty crow though.

My quietest is my Buff Orp but I don't think it has to do with his breed it's more of an individual thing.

Sorry, it's probably not the answer you were looking for but there is no clear cut quiet breed.

I am still lacking experience, but so far i thought the Silkie roo's had the best sound as far as not being so sharp.

Silkies can be just as loud as a standard, someone mentioned it depended on the bird and it true. Since I have about ten Silkie roos, well I guess its more than that, I can sit outside and tell who is who crowing. King is loud enough that he gets in to a crowing duel with the neigbhor's roo a quarter mile away.

Then I have my blue boy that I had never heard crow until last week, he's going on two.
