quieter ducks

I know people will say Muscovy but I want a duck that lays a decent amount of eggs
I don't want a hybrid/mix if possible
I was thinking silver apple yard are these quieter birds?

Just kidding! In my experience there is no quiet breed of duck. Unless you get a few boys.

Muscovies are the quietest ducks I know of, but not always the greatest layers. Khaki Campbells are supposed to be really good layers - up to 300 eggs a year or more.

I a kc that is really quiet and lays eggs every day. And I have her sister kc that is really really loud and lays eggs whenever she wants to which might be a few times a week or not.

My Fawn & White Indian Runner ducks are the most neighborhood friendliest ducks of them all. The Magpies are the most annoying with their shriek voices they sound more like geese, hopefully their voices change when they grow older… And the White Layers are quiet, but when they are annoyed and complain (Waak WAAAK, WAAAAK!) they need a muffler.

annoying voice scale, you crack me up. My ducks keep up a pretty consistent quiet chatter when awake, but when they are upset they really let loose, I was painfully aware of how loud they are (swedish and kcs) when I took the dogs for a short walk down the street BEFORE feeding the ducks and could hear them complaining from a several houses down Also I can hear them kick up a fuss even when I'm inside my house with the windows shut. By comparison, the chicken coop is marginally closer and I can never hear them from inside unless a window is open. I actually had a neighbor comment on the ducks' noise recently (fortunately she was not upset), the ducks were all carrying on because I'd just gotten home from work and got out of the car and they saw me and wanted more food and the neighbor happened to be outside and said "they're certainly happy to see you."

Don't get buffs if you want quiet ducks. Buffs won't stop talking!!!! They can find anything to talk about and when you talk back...they really won't stop. I think Muscovy is the best.

Muscovy lay rate is 195 a year with 3-4 broods. Not the best egg layers.

Wait till you have a deaf buff, she could out scream the African Gander. I have found Swedish to be my quietest.
