Sure, I love doing them, and it won't distract me too much from what I'm doing right now:p. I went to Joann's recently and found that their fabric is outrageously expensive. I mean, I shop at Beverly's, mainly because it's only 7 minutes away from my house, and in the downtown area, so I'm in the area a lot. But I was on my way to a Braille conference and decided to stop in and see what they had, and they had calicos for $12.99/yd! The same stuff I was buying(same brand, similar prints) for $5.99/yd. That and their clearance was nuts, they wanted $4/yd for their cheapest fabric on sale, but here I can get it for $.50-$1/yd clearance. I think I want to do reds and burgendys. I have to go shopping today for lining and tulle for a dress I'm making, so I'll have to find what I want. Those colors sound okay?

Hello,
Just trying to catch up on the latest about the quilts.
100% Cotton Calico prints & colors
Prewashed

Now, I saw this latest about the 8 point star....Maybe I missed a post...is that the design for all?
While it is a beautiful pattern, and not too difficult, it is time consuming. I was just wondering if the design has been picked, or is this just still picking?

Thank you

There is limited resources here where I am. Everything up this way (northern va, metro dc) is far too expensive. I am accustomed to much lesser priced goods of the same quality.

Editing to add - I usually buy my fabrics online when I find something I must have and want a better price.

You can choose your own block pattern just make it fit the guidelines please.

I am doing an applique block.
Slocrevs is doing an 8 pointed star
jkcove08 is doing a no-traditional styled 9 patch

There are many patterns to choose from for a sampler block patwork quilt.

Ok I think I will do a Broken Wheel also known as rolling stone block. Is that ok MP and where do you want us to put our names at?

What name do we put on the block? I'm sorry for all the questions but I want to get it right. Are you putting your BYC name, real name, or both? I think I will also put date=3/2008.

Good question. If you want you can do both names if you have time. Also remember documenting a quilt makes it more valueable if it becomes an heirloom.
