Quilters....I need advice.

Very beautiful work! and I was thinking the same thing that many others have already stated.....cold water, mild detergent, and take it out as soon as the washer stops.

You could also toss a couple of Color Catchers in the wash with it. Maybe several. They're in the laundry section of the grocery store. They absorb and trap any excess dye in the wash water. They look like the Bounce softener sheets. I've trained my husband to use those if he puts anything in the wash, as his sorting method is a little different than mine.

There are also a couple of different liquids sold to quilters, to either set dye or keep it from redepositing in the other fabric. Since they came out with Color Catchers, I just use those, though.
