This is my FIRST quilt, so picked as easy a project as I could. Way more ironing than actually pieicing together LOL... Anyway...

Here is one of all of the different fabrics I have:

Can't decide to do a mosaic like above or more of a floral theme???

Here
is the web site where I found the instructions. I was googling for yoyo instructions and found this.. She has some really beautiful stuff on her site. Anyway.... You just cut a circle and iron it into this shape. to join them... I unfolded it after it was all ironed and just matched up sides at the base hexagon inside and sewed together. The ones in the photos above are not joined... but I did try it on my first practice ones and it worked perfectly.

SHORTCUT: After doing almost a hundred of these.... I have found that I iron until I cant do any more folds... THEN I put a pin in the one I just did and the first one away from the fold (allows finger to stuff in last fold)... see pic.... then I do the next iron and put a pin in it.. then I use my fingers to stuff in the last fold.

Unfortunately.. these are not very kid friendly.. although they can trace and cut the circles.. the ironing is majority of the work and the peicing together was... not really hard, but you have to be precise.....

Anyway.. thanks for the feedback..... I started playing around with the flowers, cuz I like the single one.. but I don't think I like the multiples.. I wouldn't do these next to each other.. they are just what I had finished.

And then I thought.... Oh.. I will put white inthe middle with a colored button but that just looks like colored cheerios floating in milk....

So...yes... I think we will be doing the patchwork look....
