Quilting books?

Your local library is a wonderful resource as well. I check out a book or two from the quilting section each time I'm there. You can find some great beginner books and lots of great pattern books too. I think Eleanor Burns books are always good, very simple directions and great pictures/diagrams to keep you on track

But, be warned, once you get into quilting, your likely to be hooked for life

So I read and read on about.com about quilting then toddled over to amazon.com and read book descriptions. There are about a zillion different ones, but I finally took the plunge and ordered "The Quilter's Ultimate Visual Guide from A to Z" AND Encyclopedia of Classic Quilt Patterns" online. Those should get me started!

Thanks everybody for all your suggestions!
