Quirky Chickens Sleep Outside My Door?

My chickens have decided to gain a new quirk where when ever they are free ranging they come to my back door. They peck on the glass and preen the crap out of their feathers but after a while they lay down and fall asleep. The only reason why I can think they do this is because sometimes I throw scraps out this door for them but that’s not often. Any clues as to why they do this?

They probably see you through the glass and want food. My girls do the same thing

Oh they are so poofy I agree I think they see you and know that the food usually comes from that door so they are likely waiting for that.
