My Coop
My Coop
I have 2 pullets out of 15 laying and have been stalking the coop waiting for the next girl to drop an egg.

Today I went out to scoop some poop (all casual) and found what I thought would be my third layer in the nest box!! She had pushed the fake egg out and was cozy up in there! She’s an Olive Egger too so I was mucho excited!

I froze, closed the door and slowwwwly backed away. I sat out in the yard for 64 minutes waiting for her to be done. Pretty much just on my phone on this site. I crept back up and she was still in the nest. She was pushing, I could tell that, and panting. So I left her and went into the house. A little while later I saw her in the run and thought THIS IS IT! Ran out, opened the nest box to find..... no egg! She didn’t lay one. I checked on and off throughout the rest of the day and when I closed them up tonight there still wasn’t a new egg. She was acting normally before and after that. Is it typical for them to go through all that and not lay???

Here’s my million pictures of proof she was in there!!

however. I’m slightly suspicious its from my Egger and not my Olive Egger.

The egg in question is on the left and the for sure EE egg is on the right.

Congratulations! Plain old EEs can lay the prettiest eggs. I have a purebred ameraucana that lays very pale aqua blue. I had a regular EE years ago that laid bright robin's egg blue, so you never know! Your eggs are gorgoeus though! Congratulations! ☺
