Quotes and Thoughts for the Day

Sarah that is super cute.

Cynthia I hear you loud and clear. I named and can tell mine apart as well and we won't ever eat them. We only ate one...a mean, nasty rooster named Chomper. I swear he was the direct spawn of satan and just didn't deserve to stay on this earth. No one was safe in his presence, not even my flock.

My DW won't let me get another dog. I guess she was so attached to Casey the chocolate lab we had. Our 20 year anniversary is coming up maybe I get her a puppy wearing a diamond on the collar. She needs another stone for her wedding band cause she lost it a few years ago.

A dog is the best weapon to have to protect your family.

I agree with you there on protection.  I owe both of my boys big time there.  Especially Hunter, the shepherd, he chased four men out of my driveway who had no intention of leaving quickly.  They left quickly when they saw him running :gig

I like your idea of a puppy with a diamond.  I bet your DW would also :)

I thought it was a good idea. I'm glad you and Jan did also. Thanks!! It works out for both of us we get another dog and she gets a new stone for her ring!!

Careful, puppies have a way to work magic on a person's heart. Your DW may end up with a puppy and you may end up with a diamond.:lau

I rather have the dog but you maybe right!!

Same as us Shannon, the only ones we TRIED (to tough, i think they did it on purpose

We didn't eliminate him until 10 months so it made sense. He was defiant all the way through the end. I left him to thaw and entire day and he refused. My parents came over to help out too. My mother threw him in the oven for a while to completely thaw then my father went to grill him and, what do you know, he didn't fit on the grill. Even though he was evil he at least lived out a good 10 months. He free ranged all day and when they all went in the last night we harvested him with a full belly. ( I read an article that said to withhold food for a while, but I couldn't do it)

German shepherd, shepherd/malamute X, poodle, 3 goldens = the dogs of our lifetime. The first two goldens died (were euthanized) because of metastasized cancer at 11 and 12 years of age - as unrelated as goldens can be given their limited gene pool. Dani is 7 and in great condition. When she goes there will be no more puppies. Perhaps a rescue dog?
Oh we had one. he was the neighbor's dog, but as a puppy he spent all his time with us. So When they were going to move, my husband asked if we could have him.
One of the all time best animals ever. he was our $8,000 dog.
I still miss him.
