occasionally I will try to crush them, but find the fire method is much easier. A couple days ago I had one that really dug in, my fiance lit it and it jumped/popped right across the sink

I've done the natural stuff along with massive antibiotics. I swear by them. I have to go on antibiotics every time I get a bite and then will usually have a flare depending on how long and how deep the tick is embedded. Most of my problems are neurological so I have a lot of pain from inflammation around my nerves. I can just imagine what dogs with Lyme arthritis goes through. High stress will also cause a flare.
