Quotes and Thoughts for the Day

I'm actually going to buy some veterycin this afternoon. They have one bottle left about 45 minutes drive. She isn't eating at all or I'd try the bread and she's mad at me now so she won't eat anything out of my hand. I'm wondering if I should use that spray on top of everything I have or replace the eye ointment for it. Looking at her sometimes I just want to sit down and cry. I just wish she'd try to eat.

I feel like I've been a bit ungrateful here. (unintentional) I looked a little further into this golden feather and it must mean someone was kind enough to gift this to me. I really appreciate it whoever you are.

It's very thoughtful and generous.

Thanks Ken. I think I'm going to try and rig up a feeder that will be eye level and see if that makes a difference. I think regardless we'll have to tube feed tonight.

Can you see into the eye that is injured. did the vet look? is the eye ball still there? Maybe switch off and on with spray and ointment. I usually only use ointment when going to bed and they can't dunk their heads and wash it off. Other than some scratches the eye was the wore injury? is she moving around at all? interacting with her mate?
Sounds like your going to have to tube feed her wrap her up in a towel actually you could even tape the towel closed so she can't wiggle out of it. I'd dif have someone hold her while you tube her. I can't imagine doing it all myself. can you mash the antibiotic up and put it into a liquid and get it down her via neddleless syringe? I have used syringe to worm my chickens but haven't tried it on my water fowl.Used casportpony directions.

Actually maybe @casportpony could give some ideas on how to get the meds into her.

I messaged casportpony and I did get a bit of advice from another member on the thread I started. I can see the eyeball. The lids are very swollen so it was too hard for the vet to see if it was scratched so the ointment is without steroids. Her mate stays with her all day. He never ventures more than a few feet away. He takes her to some areas for food, but she doesn't eat even while watching him. She is drinking though, so that's' something.

If I get the tube in successfully I plan to make it worth my while. Food, liquid, medicine.
