Quotes and Thoughts for the Day

For all of you believers some pic from the holly land for Christmas !
Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth

Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem

Merry Christmas to you all from Israel!!
Beautiful! How elaborate does Israel usually decorate for Christmas? I'd think they would mostly celebrate Hanukah. Merry Christmas from the other side of the world!

Anne Frank's story is so sad...I'm so glad it was saved and published.

I recently re-read her diary for about the 4th time. Seem to get more out of it every time I read it. She was an amazing young girl.

For the past few days I've been reading a book written by Miep Gies one of the friends that helped hide and care for the families in the Annex; she's also the person that found Anne's diary after the families were discovered. Fascinating book, you get a behind-the-scenes viewpoint of what all went into hiding the Franks, Van Daans and Dr. Dussel. Miep and her husband also hid another young man in their own home during that time. Extraordinarily brave people. The name of Miep's book is "Anne Frank Remembered" and I recommend it to anyone that was moved by Anne's Diary.

@Akrnaf2 beautiful pics! Thank you for sharing!

I had another "off" day today, as happens and I decided to do something I've been thinking about for awhile now… Just to cheer me up a bit… Meet my little cancer buddies, or therapy chickens if you prefer:

The black one is Daisybelle and the other 2 are Brahmas according to the breeder. Sorry it's not the best pic, I wanted to get them settled quick and off to bed, as it was late when we came back.

The paler one has a bum leg, which I'm going to try and fix, if possible. If not, well, I'll try and let it have as best a life as it can with the one good leg. I saw it hopping around the brooder at the breeder's place and said "I'm taking that one. No-one's going to want it" It turned out to be the cutest darn thing, spent most of the 3-hour drive back cupped in my hand, singing happily

Yeah, I think I've heard of that one. I know there was a collaboration of writings from her classmates in school. Never read it though. Very sad story

Good idea! Animals are some of the best things for "therapy."

Congratulations on your new babies :celebrate They are super cute :love I'm sure they will bring you lots of smiles and will be a welcome distraction for you as you care for them. Nothing better than baby chicks to brighten the days. Good luck with the bum leg, either way it's going to have a fab and happy life with you Sumi.
